Create your own light puppet and join the Valoilmiö Light Caravan on Saturday, November 23, 2024. You can also make a light puppet for your own light play.

The instructions were created by Pia Kalenius from Aura of Puppets. Pia made a seahorse out of waste materials, but you can use the same technique to create any figure.

Instructions

To make a light puppet, you will need plastic waste, such as empty transparent plastic bottles. Additionally, you will need scissors, clear tape, and a flashlight.

Collect plastic waste such as plastic bottles, bags and wrappers.

Create the body from plastic bottles. For a seahorse’s head Pia has used two bottles.

Cover the head with a plastic bag to add color. Use clear tape to attach the pieces together.

Decorate your puppet with other plastic waste material and attahc the flash light at the bottom of the figure.

Illuminate your figure and play. The light puppet works best in darkness.



NOTE! A flash light is not a toy. So parents need to monitor the building and play.
